travel throwback: new zealand (part 4) -- road trip to wanaka

besides driving to milford sound, we also made another long drive to wanaka and visited some interesting places right there.

wanaka, here we come!

the first one was the 'puzzling world'. people literally come here to get mindfucked by its mindboggling games, optical illusion arts, mindblowing rooms and its maze.

puzzzzzling world.

optical illusion.

the room where all the tokoh2 like einstein, mandela, beethoven etc
are staring at you continuously.

the 'defying gravity' room

oh, don't mind us.
we're just pooping and getting stuck in the lubang jamban. lol.

of course we couldn't miss playing the great maze. we actually split up ourselves into 2 teams; team fabulous (me, nani and chiah) and team pakcik2 (suhaimi and pokka). the first team which got to all four towers and the finishing line would be the champion. and i was like, "come on, we can totally win this. those pakciks has got nothing on us. lets do this, bitches!"

the great maze.

sebab desperate sangat nak menang, kitorang main kotor awal2 tu and it backfired us. we got lost! we were walking in the same circle again and again and still ended up at the same dead end. dammit!

it was harder than it looks.

shockingly, team fabulous lost to team pakcik2. cis! this must be because pokka used his advantage of being super tall to navigate around the maze. so unfair!

cannot brain that we lost to them pakciks!

after having fun inside the place, we went outside and posed for some photos with the famous leaning clock tower.

because standing towers are too mainstream.

attempting to "poke "my butt with the tower. haha.

awesome people need to eat too!

after filling up our stomach, we got on the road and headed to the largest transport and toy museum in the world! it has all types of transport and toy here. from vintage cars and classic toys to real airplanes and war vehicles. there were so many of them we spent hours there until the place was closed.

too many transports and toys to handle.

vintage dolls.

we had so much fun being silly!

parajurit2 negara bersedia mempertahankan negara.

big yellow bulldozer.

real aeroplane.

transformers, attack!

these are only a few pictures from our visit to the museum. there are just too many of them to share here. anywho, selepas dihalau keluar (sebab tempat tu nak ditutup), we continued driving to wanaka town. we had some troubles finding this supposedly famous hill. after gigih mencari for almost an hour, (we think) we finally found it. but it's just a small hill and nothing what we expected. hampeh je.

 the "famous" hill.

but our kekecewaan terubat kembali bila kami melihat keindahan permandangan di tasik wanaka. it was very windy though.

wanaka lake.

after we had our dinner at this halal indian restaurant, we watched a movie (taken 2) at cinema paradiso. it was an old church turned into an independent cinema where they have sofas and pillows (and an antique car) in the screening hall. it was so comfy that i slept while the movie was on. haha.

cinema paradiso.

its interior.

waiting for our movie.

my movie ticket.

kroih kroih zzzzzzz.

where can you find other cinemas with a classic car inside its hall?

the movie was okay la (i prefer taken 1 though). but i'm glad we had the experience of watching a film in a hipster cinema. after watching that movie, kami terus memandu pulang ke queenstown di dalam kegelapan malam. uuwooo... uuwooo ... (bunyi burung hantu). gitu. next post will be about our furthest and last road trip in nz, to dunedin! we met some malaysians there!

p/s: some photos are curik from chiah and suhaimi.
