previously i've written about our visits to christchurch, queenstown and arrowtown as well as our road trips to milford sound and wanaka for 'travel throwback: new zealand'. this is the last part of the series and it's about our road trip to dunedin, otago. i still remember we had this argument on how to pronounce 'dunedin' and until now i still don't which one is the correct way. haha!

| du-ney-din? di-ne-din? da-ne-deng bak hang! |
being a chocolate lover, nani telah berjaya menghasut kitorang to go the cadbury world a.k.a chocolate factory. however, to actually see how chocolate is made, we had to pay a lot for the tour. since we were fakir miskin, we only did the short tour which only covered the mini museum and the gift shop. there was nothing much to see. but we got some complimentary chocolates though!
| the chocolate factory (not really). |
| being miskin was so menyedihkan. |
alang2 kat situ, we took some time to jalan2 around the block la. tapi takde ape sangat pun.
| i think this was their old railway station kot. |
| nice architecture btw. |
then we drove to this posh house called the olveston. unfortunately, when we were there, there were no more tours for the day so we could only jalan2 keliling luar rumah. the receptionist was friendly though. she told us some stories about the house and its old owners, the theomins (but i wasn't really listening haha). if i'm not mistaken, she said the theomins were very pemurah. they donated their furniture to orang2 kampung kat situ for some reasons (ke aku reka je cerita ni?).

| the olveston. |
| they even have their own greenhouse. kaya betul ni. |
| look at the size of that house! |
| i wish my belakang rumah is this cantik. |
we also drove around in the hilly side of otago peninsula. i don't really remember what we did there. i think we wanted to enter this castle but since the entrance fee was damn expensive, we changed our mind and drove away. sob, sob, sob (nangis). btw, the weather was not really great that day, it was drizzling and misty.
| very the berkabus. |
then we continued driving to a lookout point at sandfly bay where we could see some part of the otago peninsula. we also explored this mysterious pathway (that looked like something from the movie twilight) at a nearby wood leading to a small cottage. god knows who lived there.

edward cullen, i know you're there! come out, you sparkling vampire! |
| or maybe it was a bangsal? |
we also met two of my malaysian friends, zariq and hafiz, who were studying at the university of otago. they were really kind to let us stay at their place for a night and fed us with some home-cooked food too!
| feels like home :) |
hafiz volunteered to show us around dunedin. he brought us to the steepest street in the world, their university and some parts of the town (where we dined at one of dunedin's famous burger shops, as hafiz claimed). we also borong-ed some nz's famous whittaker's chocolate. they had so many flavours here (kiwi, peanut butter etc) and so cheap too!

| baldwin street -- world's steepest street. |
| sampai senget rumah2 kat sini. camne dorang berak agaknya? |
| we reached the top of the street! |

| we didn't have cool building like this in our uni :( |
the next morning, we drove our way back to queenstown to fly back to christchurch. then we had to take another flight from christchurch to brisbane which was on the next morning. yes, we had to sleep at the airport and it was freeeezing! sebab tak tahan sejuk, i secara kejinya bawak masuk kerusi into a toilet for the handicapped, locked the door and slept under the hand dryer while occasionally heating myself. very the menyeksakan. haha.
